A List Apart is an online magazine that “explores the design, development, and meaning of web content, with a special focus on web standards and best practices.” And in other words, “for people who make websites.”
Since a big part of keeping current in the web design industry is to adapt to the ever-changing web landscape, we thought you might enjoy A List Apart‘s December article, “What I Learned About The Web in 2011″. It is entirely composed of anecdotes, words of wisdom and trial and error advice from A List Apart readers, including many well-regarded web and UX designers from around the globe.
Here are just a few of the reader comments on what they’ve learned this past year in web design:
- Tear down the cubicle walls – designers and developers need to work together (Ethan Marcotte, Independent Designer, Developer, and Ragamuffin)
- Never stop learning – 2011 has been all about responsive web design (Drew McLellan, Director & Senior Developer, edgeofmyseat.com)
- Change is good, donkey – never get too comfortable (Liz Danzico, Chair, MFA Interaction Design, School of Visual Arts)
