Hearts Warmed at Music at Lunch

News

This week’s Music at Lunch was full of love. Literally. The Valentine’s Day edition of the Audio Engineering Department’s M@L (Music at Lunch) brought current students Nathan Peacock and Teigen Gayse together to perform in the downstairs lobby of CAT.

Nathan took to the stage first; serenading the audience with his heart felt melodies. Teigen later joined Nathan and the two performed “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. This got members of the audience up on their feet and dancing to the catchy tune. As some of the crowd danced, others sat back and watched as they chowed down on pizza provided by Student Services.

If the music talent wasn’t enough, four Fashion Design and Merchandising students (Tianna, Anissa, Baily and Monaco) dressed as Cinderellas. The four ladies, decked out in prom dresses, anxiously awaited their suitors as audience members were given half of a playing card in hopes of matching it to the other half of each Cinderella’s playing card. The first pair to match their playing cards were given a special Valentine’s Day prize.

Finally, candy grams were handed out to students…some from other students…some from secret admirers.

This edition of Music at Lunch proved that regardless of whether you’re a believer in Valentine’s Day or not, it is possible to leave an event like this with a little more love in your heart.
