On February 15th Kelowna’s Fashion Design and Merchandising Department Head, Suzette van Bakel, along with 2nd year Fashion students, Katrina Haining and Dominique Enns, took part in judging the UBCO’s “What Not to Wear” contest.
The contest was open to all final year UBCO students, giving them the opportunity to change their look in preparation for entering the job world. One male and one female student were voted “most worthy of a makeover” and will be treated to a glamorous makeover on Saturday, March 16th.
Suzie, with the help of one of her Fashion Design and Merchandising students, Erin Hamilton, will act as Image Consultants for the “What Not to Wear – Workplace Edition”.
The male contest winner will be picked up via limo Saturday morning and brought to Mirror Mirror Salon and Day Spa for a haircut/style and makeup application followed by a morning full of shopping at Orchard Park Shopping Centre with CAT’s Fashion Design and Merchandising student Erin Hamilton. The female contest winner will be treated to the same luxuries that afternoon with Suzy taking the reins as fashion consultant.
It is sure to be an exciting and rejuvenating day for both contest winners.
We can’t wait to see the final product!
