The Kelowna Interior Design Students took part in an educational and motivational event this Wednesday at the IDC/IDIBC Okanagan Design Exchange conference.
Students connected with manufacturers and suppliers as well as fellow interior designers, architects and professionals within the industry in order to gain insight, network and share ideas.
Students learned how to make sure they obtain certain architectural woodwork, about AWMAC’s role in the
industry as well as about the different quality ranges of woods, panels, finishes and hardware.
On hand to speak to the group was Curt Higham of Ames Tile and Stone as well as Bob Hunter of Milliken.
Students also learned about the impact of Pinterest on today’s industry as it is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing social media websites where people can collect and share images.
By the end of the day students were given the opportunity to do some additional networking as well as browse new products.
Another great opportunity for our Interior Design students that left them all the more knowledgeable about their industry!
