Last night the Kelowna campus welcomed those interested in learning about some of the different programs offered at Centre for Arts and Technology at their Open House.
Those in attendance were treated to refreshments and cake upon arrival. From there attendees could check out the Animation, Film, Graphic Design or Audio work stations.
The Animation lab gave those in attendance the opportunity to take part in an animation and drawing lab which allowed them to animate character’s faces and draw on a traditional animation light table! The Animation lab concluded with a screening of the animations, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their work.
The Graphic Design lab allowed those participating to create hand painted and photographic images to print and take home, while the Digital Filmmaking department presented a compilation of student films and audio tracks.
The Audio Engineering lab taught participants how to make sound effects for film – this included using LOTS of vegetables! Following this was a lesson on how to mix and master a track in the art school’s Mac lab.
And finally, the evening was brought to an end with dance party and DJ demonstration!
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who joined us for the Kelowna Open House and hope to see you in the near future!
