School District 23 Teacher and Counsellor Campus Tour

News

When like-minded individuals come together, great things can happen, and our day spent with counsellors and teachers from the local school district is definitely the start of great things! Yesterday, we had over 30 counsellors and teachers join us on campus to learn about all the programs and opportunities available to students attending Centre for Arts and Technology.

Initial feedback from our visitors has been very positive, with many of the counsellors saying how excited they were to take this new knowledge back to their students. For more than a few of the counsellors, this was their first time visiting our school and for a select few who were not familiar at all with our programs, it was a great chance open the lines of communication.

The day started off with a general meet and greet. Our campus Director and President, Martin Theiss was on hand to welcome each person as they arrived. The group was then taken through the conception of our school, our core values and who we are in the post-secondary world. Our Student Success Manager, Tammy Hoekstra then spoke about the systems in place to aid graduates in finding a rewarding career after graduation.

Visitors were then escorted on a guided tour of our campus and facilities, which included our two audio recording studios, our video production studio, digital photography studio and various other classrooms. There were classes in session, so it was a great opportunity for our guests to see students in action; drawing in animation, filming for a school project and recording their latest audio work.

The day wrapped up with lunch and a question and answer period where visitors could be informed on topics that may not have been covered during the day’s activities.

We thoroughly enjoyed having all the counsellors and teachers on campus and are grateful for the opportunity to share what we are so passionate about: empowering people through education. We hope you will all come back and visit us again soon and help us connect students with a post-secondary education that fulfills their passions!
