Centre for Arts and Technology is proud to announce that a groundbreaking partnership has been established between the Centre for Arts and Technology and Langara College, Continuing Studies. This partnership will see CAT’s industry-proven 2D & 3D Animation curriculum offered at Langara’s downtown Vancouver campus.
This unprecedented partnership between a public post-secondary school and a private post-secondary is in response to the continuing growth in British Columbia’s animation industry. Centre for Arts and Technology draws upon its diverse animation industry connections to create an adaptable, nimble program able to respond quickly to industry needs. Led by animation industry veteran; Sean Ridgway, who cut his teeth in the early nineties for an independent game studio in Ontario. Over the course of his career, Ridgway has worked on a variety of notable projects for some prestigious studios; Electronic Arts, Studio B Productions, Bardel Entertainment and Disney. Centre for Arts and Technology’s animation program is instructed by in-class industry professionals with the program operating as close to a real-world studio environment as possible within an educational structure.
Langara College, Continuing Studies has chosen to partner with the Centre for Arts and Technology’s animation department and will offer CAT’s 2D Animation & Digital Art and 3D Animation for Game, Film & Visual Effects Diploma programs. The offering of this program within Langara’s walls will complement other existing programs offered under Lanagara’s Continuing Education department. The very same time-proven animation curriculum that CAT has offered for nearly 20 years, producing high-quality animation graduates, will now be delivered at Langara’s downtown Vancouver campus.

Centre for Arts and Technology delivers fully accredited certificate and diploma programs across a variety of arts and technology disciplines. Our Kelowna campus features two contemporary recording studios and a film production studio, in addition to extensive digital video, photography, motion graphics, digital media, digital effects, fashion design, and animation labs. Our animation graduates can be found both locally and abroad, working for such studios as Yeti Farm Creative, Bardel Entertainment and Disney.
