A Message from The President

News

Dear Students, Staff, Colleagues,

It is not the Centre’s policy to comment on executive action being taken by another country, nor does the Centre generally comment on Canadian and World news; however, in light of recent events I feel compelled to speak out and offer my sincerest heartfelt condolences for the families of Canadians who lost their lives in Quebec City at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec on Sunday. Canada’s values are those of inclusion, diversity and multiculturalism and this college shares those same values. Discrimination and violence over faith, gender, race and/or other identity differences cannot and will not be tolerated in this institution. My heart goes out to those who lost their loved ones for doing no more than peacefully practicing their faith. I know this despicable act will not drive Canadians of different faiths or otherwise apart as intended, but will bring us together – unifying us to stand in mourning with the Muslim Community.

Sincerely,

Martin Theiss

President
