Graduation Diploma Ceremony Update – August 13, 2020

We have decided at this time to postpone a formal graduation ceremony for 2020. We arrived at this decision to put the health and safety of you, your family and staff first as well as compliance with current group gathering size restrictions. We had entertained the idea of a virtual ceremony, but we feel that an in-person event is worth waiting for and therefore made the decision to postpone either style of event (in-person or virtual) until 2021.

To be clear, this postponement ONLY pertains to the formal diploma ceremony. The Education Team and Marketing are working towards a Virtual Portfolio Lounge for all graduating programs to take advantage of and further details are on the way!

We will continue to keep you all updated via email and future updates to this page.

Message from CAT Regarding Graduation 2020

We wanted to reach out and provide an update on how CAT is planning to celebrate your graduation ceremony later this year. Normally, our formal graduation ceremony takes place annually in September and we have booked a venue for September 26th, 2020. However, with the arrival of COVID-19, all plans for gatherings had to be adjusted, and in some cases canceled altogether.

We would love to be able to announce graduation plans now, however at this time, we are not sure what the future will hold in regards to gatherings in September. For this reason, we ask for your continued patience and possible flexibility as we may have to be “creative” in the format of this celebration. We do hope that we will all be able to gather together, however, if restrictions are still in place in the coming months, we may be forced to decide to “go virtual” for the ceremony or postpone the event until 2021. We will be following the guidance of BC Health for any graduation plans, as the safety of you and your family is of the utmost importance.

Please trust that we want to celebrate your achievements and we will continue to keep you updated on our plans for your graduation ceremony.

If you have any questions about the event itself, please reach out to Megan Reid by email at mreid@digitalartschool.com. If you have questions about your graduation as it relates to program completion, please reach out to your Department Head.

Stay safe everyone, wash your hands, but more importantly, be kind to one another.
